X5 Retail says no plans to enter foreign markets yet

MOSCOW, Jan 21 (PRIME) -- Russia’s X5 Retail Group, the owner of Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Karusel chains, is studying opportunities for development outside of Russia, but so far has no plans to enter markets in other countries, CFO Svetlana Demyashkevich said on Thursday.

“You know, there are no such approved plans yet, but, of course, we are constantly considering new opportunities, both inside and outside Russia. As long as there is such a market inside Russia, we really have so many opportunities to grow that we are concentrating on the regions of our presence,” she said.

“Indeed, if at some point we decide to go beyond, of course, we will communicate about it, talk about it. But so far this story does not exist,” she added.
